Alana Schetzer

Alana Schetzer has worked as a journalist for almost 10 years, including five years at The Age as a news reporter. She currently works as a science journalist at The University of Melbourne, and also teaches journalism, media and writing to undergraduate and masters students. Previously, Alana worked at The Melbourne Times and The Weekly Review and and has been a panelist and host at Emerging Writers Festival, National Young Writers Festival, Storyology and more. She is an elected representative to the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance and co-founder of Women in Media, and represented Australia at the International Federation of Journalism 29th congress in France, earlier this year. Alana has been published in numerous publications including Peppermint, Time Out Melbourne, M Magazine, The Vine, MamaMia, Essential Kids and more.
