Dr Maree Kimberley

Dr Maggie Hardy

An internationally recognised leader in her field, Dr Maggie Hardy is an expert known for her contributions to insecticide toxicology and evidence-based policy. Her work focuses on the discovery, characterisation, and commercialisation of novel chemistries from the venom of Australian spiders, and her research is applied across a number of sectors, including drug discovery and delivery, public health, agriculture, biosecurity, export, and agribusiness. Maggie is an advocate for equity and diversity in higher education, and also provides digital communication training for research scientists and students.

Professor Tamara Davis

Professor Tamara Davis is an award-winning cosmologist interested in investigating new fundamental physics. She is a member of UQ’s astrophysics team working to map over 220,000 galaxies across half of the observable universe. 

Matt Finch

Dr Matt Finch writes and makes fun things for people to do in public places: festivals, special events, workshops, and games. Matt is currently the 2016 Creative in Residence at the State Library of Queensland.

Ellen van Neerven

Ellen van Neerven is an award-winning writer of Mununjali and Dutch heritage. Her first book, Heat and Light (UQP, 2014), was the recipient of the David Unaipon Award, the Dobbie Literary Award, and the NSW Premier’s Literary Award for Indigenous Writing. It was also shortlisted for The Stella Prize and the Readings Prize. Comfort Food is her first collection of poetry.
