Dr Nicola Gates

Dr Nicola Gates PhD, author of A Brain for Life, is a clinical neuropsychologist, neuroscientist, and conjoint lecturer with the Centre of Healthy Brain Ageing UNSW. She earned her Doctorate in Neuropsychiatry investigating physical exercise, cognitive training and psychological wellbeing for dementia prevention and continues to investigate health promotion and disease prevention. She has spoken to thousands about the importance of life-style and mindstyle for total health and positive living, and is well published in academic journals and general media. When not researching and promoting well-being Nicola continues to improve individuals’ lives through her private clinic brain and mind psychology in Sydney.

Margaret Simons

Margaret Simons

Margaret Simons is an award-winning freelance journalist and the author of thirteen books and numerous articles and essays. She won the Walkley Award for Social Equity Journalism in 2015, and the Quill Award for best feature in 2016, both for her article Fallen Angels, published in The Monthly, on the children of Australian sex tourists in the Philippines. Margaret has co-written biographies with former Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser and mass media proprietor Kerry Stokes, both of which went on to win awards. Her most recent book, Six Square Metres, was launched in October 2015.

Damon Young is a prize-winning philosopher and writer. He is the author of seven books, including How to Think About ExercisePhilosophy in the Garden, Distraction and his latest, The Art of Reading. His works are published internationally in English and translation, and he has also writtern poetry and short fiction. Damon is an Honorary Fellow at the University of Melbourne. 

Antonia Case

Antonia Case

Antonia Case is an award-winning writer and the publisher and editor of New Philosopher and Womankind magazines. In 2013 she won the Australasian Association of Philosophy Media Professionals’ Award for excellence in the presentation of philosophy in the media. Antonia holds an Honours degree in Economics from the University of Sydney, and she studied fashion design in Paris. She has interviewed some of the world’s leading thinkers, including Noam Chomsky, and is a regular guest on ABC radio.
