David Burton is an author, playwright, blogger and podcaster. He has written more than 25 plays, including April’s Fool, which toured nationally and is studied in schools nationwide. His newest play, St Mary’s In Exile, premieres in September at the Queensland Theatre Company and tells the controversial true story of two rebel Catholic priests in Brisbane. His 2015 memoir, How to Be Happy, won the Text Prize in Young Adult and Children’s Writing. He spends a lot of time blogging about food, teaching young people and advocating for mental health.
Meg Rosoff’s debut novel, How I Live Now, garnered the sort of rave acclaim most writers only ever dream of. She has gone on to write several award-winning books for teenagers including Just in Case, What I Was and The Bride’s Farewell.
Melina Marchetta’s novels have been published in twenty countries. She has won the Children’s Book Council Award twice, the US Printz Award, has been longlisted for the Miles Franklin Award, shortlisted for the inaugral 2015 Sara Douglass Book Series Award and won a series of awards for the screenplay adaptation of her novel Looking for Alibrandi.
