Brisbane Writers Festival gives me the chance to see overseas authors speak who I haven’t heard before.
It’s a chance to catch brand new emerging voices and of course to hear some favourites.
My picks for international authors are philosopher A.C Grayling, and the bestselling (and highly likeable) Chris Cleave.
My top five picks are:
- A Night by the Fire with Anita Heiss
- Love YA! Debut Australian Voices with Avid’s own Chris Currie
- Melissa Lucahsenko in-conversation with Maxine Beneba Clarke will be a highlight of the festival.
- David Dyer, author of The Midnight Watch, talking with Ashley Hay.
- Rebellious Daughters will feature two of Avid Reader’s very talented staff: Michelle Law and Krissy Kneen.
